Bringing the Good News feels like sailing just as Paul sets out on his voyage and navigates life storms along the way.
You are a witness; share your testimony and bring
the good news.
Blinded by the Light
Saul was spiritually blind when he “saw the light (Acts 9) Saul (Paul) and remained unable to see for three days. He converted to Christianity and became its best-known evangelist. Lord Jesus commissioned him to take the gospel to the Gentiles … referred to as Paul the Apostle( from Greek apostolos, “person sent ), and Paul, a messenger commissioned to carry out God’s plan of Salvation.
Paul’s encounter with the resurrected Jesus and that encounter transformed his life. He went from trying to bring an end to Christianity to traveling roughly 10,000 miles throughout western Asia and parts of Europe to preach about Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.
He did so at risk to himself, as Christianity was not a legal religion within the Roman Empire then.
Like Paul, we are to proclaim the good news of our conversion. (deliverance)
Troubled hearts are all around. I hear it in conversations that they’re finally to the point of wanting out of the cycle of negativity, and you can see the heavy burden upon them. My love for the Word of God and the desire to share this truth with them is my purpose because I was personally there once, too.
More than anything, I know everyone needs to experience God’s love and grace, just as I have.
They are sensing His presence and seeing his power working in ways they could never have imagined, and I am blessed with the opportunity to remind them of all His promises.
Being sent here to this location from a pulpit position or hundreds of miles from where you were does not affect how the Lord uses you to draw others to Him.
I’m still witnessing individuals experiencing emotional and physical transformations and seeing the presence of The Holy Spirit working in their lives.
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
The Holy Spirit is not limited. He is in us to be a witness everywhere.
The Holy Spirit equips people for ministry throughout the Bible and gives them specific insight, wisdom, and assignments. He teaches people how to interpret God’s Word and how to communicate with the Father on people’s behalf, and he empowers them to help others overcome their life issues.
Scripture provides us with biblical motivation and training for sharing the Word with friends and recent acquaintances.
I live next to a 171,280-acre national recreation area. There are many trails and outdoor activities; they have maps to help you navigate your way. So, I put a similar experience for a simple Disciple help guide.
You can join individuals on their spiritual journeys by being an;
Explorer (helping them discover their spiritual walk)
Compass (showing them the way to study the Bible)
Light (assisting people to get past obstacles)
Mentor (walking with them as they grow in their faith).
“I see individuals actively opening their hearts up and desiring to have the Word of God within them.”
“I get excited to see them living out the gospel and seeing them have the desire to share their testimony with others.”
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5).
“You also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14).
He gives people the skills and abilities to share God’s love, called “spiritual gifts.” “God also testified to it by signs, wonders, and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will” (Hebrews 2:4).
The Holy Spirit is unique and creative. It still amazes me that the more you learn about Him, the easier it is to recognize His presence in your life and others.
Jesus told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20, New Living Translation)
Sharing your faith as a follower of Jesus is the greatest joy we can give to others.
Good News/ Gospel/ Good Message/ Glad Tidings
Greek #G2098 euangelion, which means “good message” or “good news,” has a rich background in the Old Testament
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news” (Isaiah 52:7)
Hebrew #H1319 בָּשַׂר bâsar, baw-sar’; (bear, bring, carry, messenger, good, tell good) tidings.
Hebrew definition of the word Witness. It brings a very graphic revelation for using our witness.
The English word witness and testimony
(‘edah, (עדה)) are both from the Hebrew root ‘ad, which is formed from the letters ayin, meaning “see,” and dalet, meaning door; to see or observe the door for its purpose.
The door of the house is used repeatedly.
The door allows us to come and go. Open or Close: Its hinges are part of the whole structure, just as we opened the door of our hearts for Jesus to come in.
It Hinges on you determining who’s waiting for you to share the truth.
Mat 24:14 – And this (#G2098) gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
God told Moses to build an ark of the testimony, also called the (Ark of the Covenant)
(Exodus 25:21-22)The words testimony and covenant both refer to the conditional agreement made between God and the children of Israel at Mount Sinai. An ark is, literally, a box or chest. So, the ark of the testimony is the “box of the agreement.”
Inside the ark of the testimony, Moses placed the tablets of the Law that God gave him on the mountain.
The ark of the testimony got its name because it would be the housing for God’s testimony to His people. His Word, His Law, was verbal and written, etched in stone.
The ark of the testimony represented the presence of God with His people, and His power went with them wherever they took the ark.
Remember, It did the Philistines no good to steal and harbor the ark because the ark had no power in itself if God was not on their side.
Likewise, we do not need physical items—crosses, images, holy relics—to carry the power of God with us because He already abides in us.
Since the death and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 14:9), Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament. God no longer uses an ark of the testimony to dwell with His people. We are under a new testament or covenant. At Pentecost, He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell every believer (Acts 2:1-4, 38, 39)
We become His temple
(1 Corinthians 6:19)When we have been born again by faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:3, 16), we take God with us everywhere we go.
Paul urges his readers to “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” God’s Word—His message about Christ—should be at home in us. It should.
Colossians 3:16-17
16 “Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Let the Holy Spirit use your Testimony.
You be a Witness to others and share the Good News so their eyes will see Jesus, and they too will open the door of their hearts and let Him in.
