WHY YOU SHOULD start A PRAYER JOURNAL
Journaling your prayers is never a waste of time, and you certainly do not need a prayer journal to talk to God. Yet, I have found it so incredibly helpful in my own prayer life. I begin with a gratitude.
What I’m Thankful for. Then, I begin to write all that is weighing on my heart. It doesn’t take long; it starts pouring out like a river, and my pen cannot stop. I do this as often as I can. There are times I’ve been stirring in my sleep, and I know I must write down my prayer. I give the Lord my thoughts, feelings, circumstances, struggles, and inner pain. Yes, He hears it all.
I used to tell the congregation, “Let us give it to the ears that count first.“
When writing, I feel His presence strong. It’s amazing how you know he’s hearing your heart. Then, I will begin praying for my Family I write out each prayer. Making sure I put every detail of each person’s needs. Go further and pray for your community, town leaders, school, co-workers, America, all nations, and Israel; pray with all your heart, about everything. Read your prayer even out loud. Speak it back to Him, and in the atmosphere of your home, change will come. He is Faithful!
Prayer removes your worry.
Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.”
You will find how much He loves hearing from you, and you’ll be able to look back on where you’ve been and what God has brought you through and see how many prayers He has answered along the way. But even then, it’s a map of your prayer growth throughout your days.
Pause and listen; turn your ear to hear, He may lead you to a scripture, you might begin to repent.
He sometimes gives a prophetic word for your circumstance. He calls me to my Bible and repeatedly reveals scripture to confirm He’s aware and moving on my behalf.
- When in a specific place in the Word
- You might find a theme to follow
- Keywords to look up from the Scripture: “I have loved you even as the Father has loved Me. Remain in My love.” John 15:9.
I was in prayer deep distress, praying to the Father in my office at the Church one Sunday Morning.
I cried out unto Him. I was so desperate for a response. My eyes looked over to a box in the secretary’s office and on the side of it with bold Letters, “Data processing.”(Means occurs when data is collected and translated into usable information). I was overwhelmed because I was carrying on to the Lord with sobs. I wasn’t sure if I was clear in my distress. I guess SOS is enough.
Don’t ever underestimate the Power of your Prayers.
If your Babies are little or big, they will remember a praying parent above all else. Let them hear you talking to the Father God about their needs.
I’ve been journaling for years, and I sometimes pick up a spiral notebook. The best ones are TJMax or HomeGoods. Remember to date your notebook and pages because they will become your testimony books. I take a red pen or marker and write answered prayer and date it at times; if there’s enough space, I’ll tell all how he moved to bring it to pass. It’s like a picture you find and say oh, I forgot about that moment. It’s the same with your prayers when you find one you forgot from years past.
Below are some posts from my Journal.
🌈 A Rainbow Connection
Today, I took a picture in the sun of my little white vase filled with vibrant flowers that Brad had bought. I couldn’t help but think of the 🌈, which reminded me of when I stopped to grab a coffee. It was a moment of connection (a rainbow connection) where I shared the truth about the Rainbow in...
I never got to say goodbye, but I will one day say, “Hello, Old Friend!”
I will forever be grateful to the older man who sat beside me with the tattered, worn Bible, who wholeheartedly praised Jesus and loved life. He always carried his Bible, a steadfast companion tucked under his arm or open in his hands. It was tattered and worn from all its use. I remember...
My Valentine ❤️
Brad told me today, “The first time I met you, my ❤️said yes.” and I was in agreement with him because it happened to me, too. Gen 2:18 - Now, the LORD God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is suitable...
Highway Shoulder
Have you ever found yourself living out the lyrics of a song? It's not one I have found myself doing till now. In the South, country music is everywhere—playing in shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. One particular song kept looping in my mind. It told a sad story, not too unpredictable with...
Magnificent!
I am reminded once again of the profound truths that can be uncovered through the study of Hebrew words and their numerical significance. You know, sometimes God speaks to us in the most unexpected ways, and I had one of those moments recently. I was looking at an elk’s ear tag—just a simple piece...
As the Sun’s Scorching Heat of August Rises
You will sense a sweet whisper of relief, like a gentle breeze approaching you. Just as you yearn for cool shelter from the blazing sun in the comforting shade, be assured that you will find comfort and protection in the message destined for you in the coming days. These words began to flow...
