I want to share a little story with you today about a heart—surrendering its will to God’s will.

I Surrender to you!

Now, I know what you might be thinking. When you hear “surrender,” it can sound like defeat, right? Like waving the white flag and giving up.

But let me tell you, surrendering to God is not about losing; it’s about humbling ourselves so we can be led by Him instead of being tossed around by our selfish desires and others’ expectations of us.

When we surrender, we are not relinquishing our strength; we are tapping into a greater power—the power of the Almighty.

Picture this: there’s this girl named Annalee, and she’s got big dreams. She’s doing everything she can to stay above water but she is trying to climb the ladder of what others call success. Deep down, she yearns for so much more than anything the world could offer her. She has spent too many hours working, planning, worrying, and stressing about her future. Sound familiar? I know I’ve been there!

One afternoon, sitting outside with her Bible open, she feels God’s gentle nudge. It’s like He’s whispering, “Hey, sweet girl, it’s time to surrender.” She reads Psalms 25:9, and it hits her: “He teaches the humble in what is right and leads them step by step.”

At that moment, she realized that surrendering doesn’t mean giving up her dreams; it means letting God take the lead and now she was willing to follow Him with all her heart surrendered.

Annalee starts to understand that surrender involves giving up her will, plans, fears, and even her pride. It’s about letting go of that need to control everything and trusting that God has a better plan for her life. And trust me, it’s not easy but it is amazing to look back and realize how easy it was. She knows that whether she surrenders or not, life will throw challenges her way. So why not choose to embrace peace instead of stress?

As she begins to let go, she finds herself feeling lighter. She starts to release her worries, knowing God can handle them. She lets go of the need to be right and allows God to guide her decisions. And guess what? With each step of surrender, she feels more connected to Him.

Annalee also learns that her past mistakes don’t define her. They’re just part of her story! She forgives herself, letting go of anger and bitterness. It’s like she’s shedding the image she thought she needed when it has held her back all along. And you know what? She realizes that true success isn’t about climbing the ladder or winning awards and looking like everyone else. It’s about humbling yourself before God and trusting Him with your life.

Every day, she reminds herself of Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” That verse becomes her anthem. Instead of racing to promote her interests, she finds joy in simply being in God’s hands.

So here’s the deal: God is the one who lifts us, and it’s our job to trust Him. It’s not about seeking our fame and measuring up with others’ success; it’s about surrendering everything to God and letting Him work in our lives.

Annalee’s journey teaches us that surrender is a beautiful act of faith. When we let go and allow God to lead, we discover a deeper connection with Him and a peace that surpasses all understanding. So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed, remember: surrender isn’t defeat; it’s the first step toward a victorious life in Christ. Trust Him, and let Him guide your path!

John 8:12

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
