I am reminded once again of the profound truths that can be uncovered through the study of Hebrew words and their numerical significance.
You know, sometimes God speaks to us in the most unexpected ways, and I had one of those moments recently. I was looking at an elk’s ear tag—just a simple piece of metal—but as I began to dive into its meaning, I felt a rush of excitement. It was Strong’s #155, and let me tell you, God has a way of using the ordinary to reveal His extraordinary truth!
Strong’s #155: ‘addereth
In the Hebrew language, ‘addereth means glory or cloak. That beautiful male elk is called a bull
He was the very definition of #155
It’s so much more than just a # word! It represents magnificence and splendor, like a beautiful mantle that wraps around you. Can you imagine? It’s as if God is saying, “I wrap you in My glory, My child!”
The related word ‘adir is the description of the photo.
And then I found the related word, ‘adir (Strong’s #H117). This word means wide, large, and powerful. It’s a reminder that our God is not just big; He is majestic! He is excellent, noble, and worthy of all praise. It’s a beautiful picture of His might and the incredible purpose He has for each of us.
And it continues ; Strong’s Definitions
אַדִּיר ʼaddîyr, ad-deer’; from H142; wide or (generally) large; figuratively, powerful:—excellent, famous, gallant, glorious, goodly, lordly, mighty(-ier one), noble, principal, worthy
Isn’t it amazing how God can take something as simple as an elk’s ear tag and use it to remind us of His greatness? He’s always speaking, inviting us to see His presence in everything around us. So, the next time you find yourself in a moment of reflection, look for those little signs of His glory—they’re everywhere, and they remind us that we are wrapped in His love and purpose!
His Antlers are beautiful!
Antlers, by the way, differ from horns
Elk shed their antlers in late March or April. Shortly after the antlers drop, new ones begin to grow.
