We were outside today, and Brad said,” Look at that painting.” We chose to linger there and enjoy God’s masterpiece.
Deuteronomy 30:19: “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life that you may live.”
He didn’t say to make a decision. He said, “Choose”!
The difference between a choice and a decision.
In this reflection of Deuteronomy 30:19, we encounter a profound invitation: “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life that you may live.”
Notice the word He uses: choose. Not merely “decide,” but choose. There’s a world of difference between these two actions.
A decision often finds us at a crossroads, burdened by the weight of options, our minds swirling with the “what ifs” and “should I?” It can feel more like a tug-of-war than a clear path forward. But a choice? Ah, a choice is a beautiful thing. It’s hopeful and forward-looking, rooted in our deepest values and beliefs. It’s not just about what we do; it’s about what we desire and our heart embraces.
When we choose, we align ourselves with our intentions, and clarity washes over us in that moment. The choice of life is like a breath of fresh air—a simple yet powerful act that transforms our perspective. It takes but a heartbeat to choose life and embrace the blessings that await us.
So today, let’s not linger in the mire of indecision. Instead, let’s choose life! Let’s step boldly into the light, knowing that our choice is a declaration of hope, a commitment to the abundant life that God offers. Choose His life and let it flourish in your heart!
I have a memory like a beautiful painting forever in my mind.
Let me take you back to a divine moment of transformation and impartation when I was desperately broken and chose to cry out to Jesus, the Living Word! I still can feel the power of that encounter. In that sacred space, my heart was stripped bare, every falsehood cast aside like shadows in the light of His glory!
I am drawn back to that glorious place like a heart longing for its soul mate! Oh, how I yearn for that raw, unfiltered moment when the veil was lifted and I was filled with an awareness so profound, so pure, that my flesh could not bear to enter.
Only the Holy Spirit, hallelujah, carried me across that sacred threshold, allowing me to tread upon a path of divine revelation anew! Glory to God!
The transformation is here! The impartation is now! Embrace it, and allow His presence to Embrace you.
Why do I choose to be drawn back to that precious picture at that very moment?
Let me share why.
This is something from the depths of my heart. Salvation is a beautiful gift—free and unearned, like the morning sun breaking through the clouds. It invites us into a relationship with the Divine, one that transforms us and fills our lives with purpose.
Here is why: I choose never to forget. It keeps me humble and aware that others will try to steal the beauty God has placed within my heart.
They want a transformation but don’t want to pay the price of surrender.
Following close to the Lord is a relationship, yes, knowing him and not knowing of him.
Yet, I must remind you that spending time with truth requires something of us; it demands transparency and often brings challenges. It may lead us into conflict with the people in our lives.
Even those we love—family members or leaders in a pulpit—might not have encountered the deep cleansing that true sanctification brings.
The enemy of our souls is crafty and knows how to exploit these relationships, attempting to drag us back into that ugly self place, void of life and innocence. But take heart! God’s grace is greater than any darkness we face. Cling to Him, and let His light guide you through all obstacles.
His voice will override the falsehoods.
Like a genuine priceless painting, others have tried to steal it, and the haters try to destroy it.
The insecurities of others should never reflect upon your right to choose.
No one should be given the power to control and influence your actions through intimidation because of their own self-destructive lies, which they perceive as hidden yet display boldly to others like a neon sign shining with words above them that reveal their true identity.
They’re out there, living in a world of deception, wrapped up in envy and pretenses, built up by a given title they wear with pride.
They live in false, calculated conversations played out in the mirror of their most envious image. Surrounding themselves with other insecure people who build them up in more prideful thinking.
They want what you have but can’t attain it. They can’t buy it or even steal it to replicate it.
Only God creates a clean heart.
You are so authentic — Impossible to duplicate
You are one of a kind, rare, and precious!
So choose to stand before the Lord daily, allowing him to keep you authentic.
When others try to steal your identity and when they try to copy you, it will be a cheap imitation, and sadly, it will not even be close to the original.
His signature is authentication, written in red upon your heart.
Because we chose to linger, we saw the light of heaven streaming down upon us.
