Look closely. A seagull is flying in the sky.

Gen 1:20

Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.”

I watched that seagull soar through the air today on the Lake for a long time. I was curious, so I researched and found that SeaGulls may fly more than 100 miles a day between their feeding and nesting sites. Their long wings catch the wind drafts.

As I watched the seagull glide effortlessly through that blue sky, the Lord pressed upon my heart,” You don’t understand everything about the wind, but you see its effects.”

Just as you do not understand everything directly in your life, it takes all of your energy trying to figure something out because you trust in your own understanding; it is time to lean on mine, and then you will see the proper effects; rest in me, for my ways are higher. Catch the updraft and glide for a while.

I could not see the wind that I felt blowing in my face. As I watched the seagull allowing the wind to carry him, he carefully positioned its wingtips and synchronized their flapping precisely to catch the updraft. He just relaxed —saving his energy because the wind carried him through the air.

And just like that, my heart was filled with much surrender, for the Holy Spirit had patiently waited for me to surrender to the wind in the updraft of God’s presence.

Jesus says;

John 3:8

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Each time I look at the sky I am reminded,

Psalm 19:1-4 explains this: The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world

Romans 1:20 also explains: For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

This is interesting ;

Seagulls are one of the few birds that can efficiently filter salt from saltwater, enabling them to drink both fresh and saltwater. This nasal gland found near the eye is present in most birds but is inactive in the vast majority, except marine birds, who spend much of their time at sea.

In gulls, this gland efficiently removes sodium chloride (salt) from the blood, enabling them to drink both sea and freshwater.

Let go and Let God; surrender.
