The outward and visible displays of the Holy Spirit in your life.
The same spirit power is to be found in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 8:9-11(AMP)
9 However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if, in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God]. 10 If Christ lives in you, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides]. 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
Many times when preaching the Word of God, and even now as I’m writing this, I know the Holy Spirit is being poured out upon me so that I would speak or write the words of the living God to your souls so you will feel the effects of the Holy Spirit moving in your life.
He gives us power, love, and self-discipline. Power can be backed up by the Holy Spirit, such as the boldness to minister the gospel.
All the miracles, all the signs and wonders.
Jesus spoke the word with authority, many believed; he healed the leper, and he spoke to diseases. All were healed; every demon had to flee, by the word of the Lord Jesus. At the Lord’s command, the dead are risen
Jesus spoke aloud a dead man’s name, “Lazarus,” who had been dead and decaying, and he walked out of that grave resurrected and whole.
When Jesus departs to the Father, His work will continue on earth—through all His disciples filled with The Holy Spirit.
John 14:12-14
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Because I go to My Father: Jesus would soon explain that when He ascended to heaven, He would send the Holy Spirit
John 14:16
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever
It was because Jesus went to the Father that the Holy Spirit came upon His people, enabling them to do these greater works.
The ‘greater works’ of which he now spoke to them would still be his works, accomplished no longer by his visible presence among them but by his Spirit within them.” (Bruce)
Power to Witness! But they testify of God’s mighty Power when those signs and wonders come.
So many times, the Holy Spirit has led me to the right places at the correct times for someone needing His desperate help.
You have your testimonies of How He moves through you for others’ needs, too. I’ve heard some amazing testimonies from many dear Christians.
I never forget those specific times when the Lord has blessed me to be a part of His redemption work.
The Lord led my children and me to Subway after I had ministered the gospel in song at a Church for an evening service. We stopped to get a sandwich, and while the young man was putting lettuce and cheese on it, he asked, “Where have you been tonight? My kids lit up and told him, “We’ve been singing about our Jesus.” Immediately, his Constance changed. A tear came to his eye, and he said, “My mom has been wanting me to go to church and give my heart to Jesus, but I work on Sundays and Wednesdays.”
I said you can repent and ask Jesus into your heart right now.
Romans 10:10
The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth, as close as the heart in your chest.
He answered yes, “I want to get saved.” we led him in a sinner’s prayer, and after the Holy Spirit moved, he took the phone and called His Mom. “Hey Mom just got saved, I’m saved Mom.”
That’s the Holy Spirit sending you in their time of need.
We’ve been talking for awhile
Listening compassionately, I felt her worry, confusion, and frustration about her challenging situation. Her words were filled with overwhelming uncertainty, covered in pain as the tears rolled down her face, yet every word came with a deep desire for just an answer.
I prayed with all my heart, Lord Jesus, bless my tongue to speak the words of healing like your healing balm poured out upon her wounded heart. My words are not sufficient. Only you, the Holy Spirit, can enter a defeated heart and breathe life to rekindle her Spirit fresh. Let your healing mercy flow like a river into her very soul. She said, “I know you were sent here to me.”
I was sent from familiarity to a place I had never been.
Our first winter here and now Spring, this place has captured our hearts. The southern people are hungry for more of the Lord.
He’s moving mightily.
I’m finding opportunities to witness in everyday places and spaces when help is needed the most.
The Lord spoke to my heart deeply,
See, He said you’re not to share a title with these people in your new home or who you were for 25 years. You love these, my people. He told me it was His town; he told me to show them real, genuine kindness, and they’ll love you for just you, the real you. Then they’ll trust you because you’re real. They’ve had enough false hope. It will be The Holy Spirit drawing them to you.
He went on to remind me to remember what I told you 34 years ago
Put your hand in a bucket of water now, pull it out. Do you see a hole? I said no, lord just water.
He then said you are replaceable. You own no position. You, my servant with a servant’s heart, now serve. I said, “I remembered every word, Lord.”
The Lord then said, “If you start to waver from this, you’ve got plenty of water all around you, just put your hand in one of those bodies of water. You’ll always get the same result.
His truth rings loud once again, and He speaks in a way, so I’ll get it!
Holy Spirit, You are the Counselor and Helper who guides into all truth. I need You to teach me and remind me of Jesus’ words. Teach me to hear Your voice and listen. Help me take the steps I need. Empower me to walk in your spirit and not in my flesh.
Fill me fresh every day; I want to be empty of everything hindering you.
I long for others to experience Your presence and power in my life so they, too, will be changed.
Zachariah 4:6
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
This is my explanation
God says, “Not by the resources of anyone, but by My Spirit. It will not be by your ability or physical strength that the building. (His temple, His dwelling You His house, His very Spirit dwells in) …will be rebuilt but by the Spirit of God.”
Same Spirit Power
This was the Spirit – the breath – the ruach of the LORD which worked in creation (Genesis 1:2), and at the Red Sea, to open and close it (Exodus 15:8-19)and that gave life to the valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37:1-14)
The Holy Spirit is divine because He possesses a mind, emotions, and a will. The Holy Spirit thinks and knows (1 Corinthians 2:10).
The Holy Spirit can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30). The Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26-27). He makes decisions according to His will (1Corithians 12:7-11)
Woven into the tapestry of the Old and New Testament is the Trinity, Father and Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Romans 10:9
if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God] and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
I accepted Jesus into my heart at nine in Alabama. At 28, I was filled with The Holy Spirit
He filled me with the Holy Spirit’s promised power because the Lord knew my days ahead;
I had to have all the help from heaven, for the battle had just begun.
I was now in the director’s chair of my movie My Life. I called out Action or Cut, or It’s a Wrap!
No longer was the enemy writing the scenes of my life or trying to direct them. He’s fired and no longer has any control of my life. I’m filled with the Holy Spirit and Fire now.
John says, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” Matthew 3:11.
The Holy Spirit sets us aflame with love for God and the desire to do his will.
Baptize you with the Holy Spirit: This is the promised outpouring of the Spirit promised with the New Covenant
Purification by fire
Ezekiel 37:14
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.”
1 Corinthians 12:7
In 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 Paul listed the spiritual gifts of: word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.
“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
1 Corinthians 12:11
We can Pray for an increase in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and open our hearts to be receptive to let him bestow those gifts upon us so signs and wonders will follow out and reach many.
Romans 10:14-15 The Message
14-15 But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them unless someone is sent to do it…
